While headlining stadium sized gigs may be every bands dream, Mayan Fox have found that the closest step to such a thing is supporting massive bands that are already headlining stadium-sized gigs. This is the stage of their career where the 5 piece (sometimes 8 with backing singers) exotic fun makers find themselves at the moment.
Mayan Fox have recently supported Parokya Ni Edgar's sold out tour of Australia.
Mayan Fox have also have in their history of bands supported Thirsty Merc, Jet, Tame Impala, Spacifix, Brian Cadd and more.
As well as their home base of Australia (where the band has played from Sydney, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast etc.) Mayan Fox have toured Canada (including a spot at North By NorthEast) and New Zealand.
Mayan Fox will again be heading to N.Z. in the new year for a tour which will include the popular New Plymouth 'Festival of Lights'.
Mayan Fox are known for their highly charged live show and front man Nate Hamon was recently quoted in Tsunami magazine as saying “Anyone that sees us live can tell that we’re having a lot of fun and it consequently allows the audience to lose their inhibitions and get a little silly! The audience sees us doing our daggy dance moves and think, “why not” and suddenly we have a room full of daggy dancers!”
The Mayan Fox line-up is completed by Maria Hamon on ukulele and keys, Shannon on lead guitar, Tai Shan Fox on bass and Dwaine Woolley on drums.
For larger shows Mayan Fox will be joined by a trio of the finest backing singers you will ever hear.
